This is the same text that ships inside the app under Settings → Privacy Policy. If the two ever disagree, tell us and we will fix it.

Your location

If you allow it, the app reads your location to work out sun, moon and tide times for where you are. That happens on the device and is stored on the device, and it is never sent to us. The one exception is the weather card, described below.

You can decline location entirely and still use everything. The app will ask you to pick a place by name instead, and you can turn location on later in iOS Settings.

What you write down

Saved places, marked spots and your catch log are stored on your device. If you have iCloud turned on, they also sync through your own private iCloud database so your devices agree. That is your Apple account, not ours. We cannot see it, and neither can Apple.

Weather

The weather card uses Apple's WeatherKit. To show conditions, the coordinates of the place you are viewing are sent to Apple, whether that is your location or a place you picked. Apple's privacy policy governs that request. Switch the weather card off in Settings to stop it entirely, and everything else in the app keeps working.

Analytics and advertising

There are none. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting, and no third party SDKs of any kind.

Purchases

The one-time unlock is processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. The app only ever asks Apple whether this Apple Account has bought it.

To make sure a reinstall does not silently hand back a fresh free trial, the count of days used is stored in your device keychain and in your private iCloud key-value store as well as in the app itself. It is a single number. It contains nothing about you, it is never sent to us, and it is removed when you delete the app and sign out of iCloud.

Children

Solunar does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. Everything the app stores lives on your device and in your own iCloud. Deleting the app removes the local copy; deleting the app's data from iCloud in iOS Settings removes the synced copy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the copy inside the app changes in the same release.
